Shannon completed both her BA, MA at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Her PhD work has been through the University of Liverpool. Shannon’s primary areas of concentration have been in the development of the novel as a genre. She is particularly interested in representations of embodiment in the works of Austen, Eliot, Dickens, and James.
Currently, Shannon tutors English 255 and English 395 at Athabasca University. This allows her to pursue her interests in teaching introductory composition and literary analysis, as well as the 19th Century British Novel.
