Virginia Gillese followed her undergraduate degree in English with a second degree in philosophy from KU Leuven in Belgium. From there, she integrated her interests in philosophy (particularly Martin Heidegger) and literature (particularly Virginia Woolf) and completed her MA at UBC under Professor Lorraine Weir. The title of Virginia’s thesis is “Re-thinking Woolf's Moments with the Limited and Specific Use of Elements in Heidegger's Thought.” Aside from tutoring, Virginia has published creative works and poetry in various journals, such as Dandelion and Other Voices, and her work has also appeared on CBC radio. When she is not writing or tutoring students, she can typically be found tending to or riding her beloved horses.
